Bad Behavior: My latest course at StoryStudio Chicago
Let’s behave badly (or, better yet, let’s write about people who do)! My next course at StoryStudio Chicago begins April 14, and it’s all about villains, tricksters, and characters we love to hate.
We’ll explore how to create nuanced characters in long and short works, how to have fun writing characters that do bad things, and how to allow ourselves, as writers, to detach from our own notions of what our characters should be, and allow them to come alive on the page, on their own terms.
We’ll study a variety of “bad” character types that include:
–unlikeable, unruly, and unreliable protagonists
–the classic villain
–the unwitting or “innocent” villain
So, sign up using this link, and let’s see how bad behavior leads to great characters!
