Love the name and the new logos, and I am so excited to find myself a Real Simple now! Is it weird that I am totally going to bring it to work and show it off like, “I KNOW THESE PEOPLE!!!” : ) I mean, would you all do that if you saw a picture of ME in Real Simple? Somehow I am doubting it. Ha! You’ll just have to forgive my eccentricities.

Wow, I can’t believe how much labor goes into preparing the hog casings. Sounds tedious! I have actually made sausage before — Joe and I did it at Clayton and Emily Taylor Poppe’s place. With a kitchen aid mixer, like you said. Let’s just say I’m glad this annual sausage fest took place in their kitchen rather than ours. I’m going to have to point Emily to your blog if she’s not already reading it, because your recipe and tips look great.

On a related note, we’re having homemade pizza tonight w/fresh sausage that Joe procured up the street at the farmer’s market. So not quite as homemade as yours, but not bad. : )
